Admissions Policy
We have a non-selective and non-discriminatory admissions policy and serve a diverse social, cultural and religious community. . Start dates will be discussed and arranged accordingly. Regular attendance is important to ensure staff can develop a good knowledge of the children’s individual needs.
We arrange our waiting list in birth order. In addition our policy may take into account the following:
- the vicinity of the home to the setting
- siblings already attending the setting or school
- prospective parents should be aware that it could be confusing for young children to attend more than one facility during the week. Priority may be given to ‘sole placement’ children if there is a heavy pressure on places.
Settling in Policy
Our policy is to treat children as individuals and arrange a flexible settling in programme to accommodate the needs of every child and their parents. Children are welcome to come along with parents or carer for as many visits as is felt necessary. Starting with a short visit and gradually building up to a full session, still accompanied. This will help the child to become familiar with the environment and routines and develop relationships with both staff and other children. It is also a valuable time for staff to get to know the parents and an important opportunity for sharing information about your child.
