"Dressed by Kids' Day

Thank you for all the generous donations for Oxfam, we raised £114.05.

Friday 16th June

We are taking part in a "Dressed by the Kids' Day organised by Oxfam. This will be a non-uniform day and the children can also wear a "silly accessory". Please bring a small donation for Oxfam Charity if you can. The teachers will be bringing in a range of silly clothing and accessories and the children will pick out the funniest one for their teacher to wear.

Reception Classes Hearing and Vision Screening

Hearing and Vision Screening for children in Reception is taking place in school on 16th and 17th May 2017. If you do not wish your child to be screened please phone 0300 421 8225.

 

Friday 24th March

On Friday 24th March we will be celebrating Holi (the Hindu Festival of Spring). Your child will be taking part in a Bollywood dance workshop and paint throwing activities. Please can your child come to school wearing old clothes that can get messy.

We will also be having a cake sale for Red Nose Day. Please send your child in with a cake donation and some money to buy a cake.

 

World Book Day

To celebrate World Book Day on Thursday March 2nd we have organised a bedtime story and dress up day. Your child will come home from school with a letter with all the information.

Y2 Clubs

A letter has come out today (23rd February) regarding Y2 clubs which start week commincing 27th February.

both choices come with Roast Potatoes, Sprouts, Carrots and Gravy

The order list will be up from 29th November in your child's cloakroom. Please ensure you order your child's choice by Friday 2nd December.

Children In Need

Thank you for your kind donations, we raised £327.15.

Friday 18th November

On Friday 18th November we will be raising money for Children in Need. To help raise money children can come to school wearing pyjamas and or spots. School Council will be holding a cake sale at break time so please send your child in with a donation if they want to buy a cake. We welcome any cake donations.

Y2 Transfer to Junior School

Today, 7th November, your child will have come home with a letter giving all the information about applying for a Junior School Place. You can apply electronically or on paper. Please make sure you apply no later than the closing date of 15th January 2017.

Reception Classes Stay and Learn Open Mornings

This is an opportunity to come in and play with your child, to see how they learn at school and how you can help them at home.

The Phonics and Reading open morning will take place on Thursday 10th November, the writing on Thursday 17th November and the Maths on Thursday 24th November. All the sessions will begin at 9am and be about 45 minutes long.

Please come in and see how your child learns and what you can do to help at home.

Key Stage 1

Week Commencing 10th October 2016 the children will be building houses for our topic "A Street Through Time". Please may your child bring in as much junk modelling as possible. Thank you.

It is very important for your child to read regularly so they can practise the skills that they have learnt. Each class now has a home reading display. Cake Sale 10th and 13th June

 

Many thanks for attending the recent cake sale, we raised £76.39!

 

Celebrating the Queen's birthday

 

On the 10th June we will be celebrating the Queen's birthday. All children in school will be having a picnic style lunch at 11.45am. We would like to invite parents to join us from 2pm onwards, during this time you will have the opportunity to have a look at your children's work.

 

To celebrate the Queen's birthday our School Council are holding a "Great British Bake Off". To take part you need to bake a cake, this could be a cake, fairy cakes or biscuits. If you would like to enter please send the entry in on the 10th June in a labelled container. Cakes will be judged by the School Council.

 

Children can wear red, white and blue on Friday.

 

Year 2 Clubs

Year 2 children will bring a letter home about Clubs today (8th June), please can this be completed and returned to the office by Friday 10th June in the morning. Clubs start on Monday 13th June.

Sport Relief

Sport Relief Friday 18th March, your child can come to school in sports kit, donations in lieu of Sport Relief. Thank you for your donations, we have raise a huge £142.05.

 

Parents Evening

The lists for parents evening will go up in your child's class on Monday 14th March, please ensure that you sign up for an appointment.

 

Thursday 3rd March

Bedtime Story session between 4 and 4.45pm. Children can come into school in their pyjamas, listen to a story and have hot chocolate and a biscuit. Please complete the slip that will have come home with your child and return to the school office. Please bring children in and collect through normal classroom doors.

 

Friday 4th March

 

Each class will read a story and take part in a range of book related activities centred around these books. Children can also dress up as a book character on this day.

Thank you very much for the donations for our Welly Walk, we raised £204.22 for Farm Africa.

After School Club

This will start Monday 7th September and will trial until Thursday 17th December. The sessions will run from 3pm-5pm and will be £5 per hour. Please contact the office to book your space.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club will start back Monday 7th September and will now open at 8am. Children need to arrive by 8.30am. There is no charge for breakfast club.

School Uniform

The logo on our school uniform is changing and will now be the logo at the top of this letter. You can order your new uniform up to Friday 17th July, we will have stock in from September if you wish to buy, however children can still wear the current uniform.

Term 6 finishes Friday 17th July 1.15pm and we start back Thursday 3rd September at 08 45. Have a lovely summer break.

 

Thank you to everyone who suppported our Wonderful Dress up and Dance day we have raised over £100 ! Look out for videos of the children's dance if you missed it !

 

 

Friday 19th June Dress up and Dance

We will be taking part in Dress up and Dance a fundraising event for MacMillan Cancer support. As part of this event children can come to school in dance or PE clothes.

The children will be performing a dance on Friday 19th June at 2.30pm on the key stage 1 playground (or the Asssembly hall if the weather is bad), if you would like to join us please come along.

Please support us in this very worthwhile cause by bringing in a donation for MacMillan Cancer.
